Shutter Design Options

Shutter Styles

Our shutters are available in five styles

1] FULL HEIGHT
These are a full height single panel window shutter, with a strengthening divider rail at the mid point when the height is greater than 118cm, thus allowing independent movement of the slats in the top and bottom section.

2] CAFÉ-STYLE
These are half height shutter panels that cover the bottom section of the window only, allowing light and privacy simultaneously.

3] TIER ON TIER:
This allows the top tier of panels to swing open independently from the bottom set, thus allowing the choice of either total privacy or of full light to enter through the top window, leaving the bottom section closed if necessary.

4] SOLID
Solid window shutters are the ultimate traditional shutter, providing a wonderfully old-fashioned look to a window and an added security feature. Solids are also available with a slatted top half.(Basswood only)

5] SPECIAL SHAPES
Our customs made shaped shutters are designed to be a practical and stylish solution to the most difficult windows. ( Available in Basswood and Lockwood ranges )


Louvre Size Options
LOUVRE SIZES: Our ranges of shutters give you the option to choose from 4 different sizes of louver, from 32mm up to 89mm.


Hidden Tilt Rod
For a more minimalist look, instead of the standard tilt rod on the middle front of each window shutter panel, a small metal bar is hidden behind, vertically attached to the edge of the slats. Available in 64mm, 89mm and 114mm slats.


Track System for Wide Windows Or Doors
A track system is used to support the weight of the window shutters over exceptionally wide windows or doors (over 2m wide) The picture of the full height shutters below is an example of a track.


Mounting Options
Inside Mount Window Shutters are installed on the inside of the recess opening as shown in this diagram. This requires sufficient depth for slat clearance (the bigger the slat, the bigger the depth required) and clearance for handles must also be taken into account. The Shutters will fold back against the inside of the recess. If mounted at the front of the recess it is possible for the shutters to then fold back against the walls on either side of the window.(see second diagram)


Outside Mount
Shutters are fixed onto the wall outside of the recess opening as shown in the diagram
